Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar is the longest sea beach in the world. It has a 120 kilometers long sandy beach. It is located 150 kilometers South of the divisional headquarter of Chittagong. Cox’s Bazar is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Bangladesh. Every year a lot of foreign & local tourist visit this place. There are several 3 star hotels and also some 5 star hotels in cox’s bazar. Besides 3 star and 5 star hotels guest houses, and motels have been built in the city and coastal region and the hospitality industry is a major employer in the area.

Many people of this city involved in catching fish and collecting seafood and other sea products. In the seaside and city stores oysters, snails, pearls, and jewelry made from shells are popular with the tourists. A number of people involved in the transportation business for visitors. Many people of the district are farmers.

A local Bangladeshi established a surfing club at Cox’s Bazar in 2002. It has now extended to holding an annual competition including locals and foreign tourists. This is the first surfing initiative in Bangladesh’s history.
